About Us

Hi, I’m Lisa. I wear many hats – Wonderbag lady, community store manager, Airbnb host, recruiter, number-cruncher’s sidekick and occasional NFP worker – but at heart I’m just a mum of three who loves good food, camping, community and finding simple ways to make life easier.

In October 2024 we felt a very clear pull toward East Arnhem Land. As part-owners of a small Aboriginal community store, we believed God was leading us there. So we packed up our life in Broome, hitched up the camper trailer and headed across the country to start a new chapter.

Life in East Arnhem has been all-consuming in the best and hardest ways. We have lived and breathed every aspect of the community store. It’s been a privilege to serve this beautiful community, but it has also meant that many of our own hobbies and loves – camping, slow days as a family, and even Wonderbags – have slipped into the background.

That’s always felt like a bit of a shame, because Gove and the surrounding communities often experience blackouts, much like South Africa. It’s exactly the kind of place that could really benefit from the humble Wonderbag – a simple, beautiful way to keep food cooking without power, save money and still share a hot meal.

Through this season, my dad (aka Poppy) has quietly kept the Wonderbag business plodding along in the background. While we’ve poured ourselves into community life and, if we’re honest, sometimes even let our kids come second to the needs of the store, he’s been faithfully looking after orders and making sure people can still access this amazing product.

Now, new managers are on their way to take over the store, and we’re preparing to hand things over and leave this special part of the world in the coming weeks. As we transition back to Western Australia, we’re looking forward to shifting more of our time, heart and energy back into Wonderbags.

From WA, our heart is to:

  • Keep sharing the Wonderbag across Australia, especially into remote and regional communities.
  • Help families save on power, eat well and still gather around slow, home-cooked food.
  • Honour the seasons God leads us into – whether that’s running a busy community store in East Arnhem or packing Wonderbags from home with our kids underfoot.

Thank you for your patience while we’ve navigated big moves, big changes and big feelings. We’re so grateful you’re here, and we’re excited to spread the Wonderbag love from WA into homes, campsites and communities all over Australia.
